It seems like everyone is a blogger or influencer these days. The market seems fully saturated and I often find myself watching Instagram stories by some of my favorite bloggers saying “blogs are dead” as they beg people to swipe up. Maybe all of that is true – and I must admit that it does feel rather intimidating to start a new venture that you feel you’re about 10 years late to the game on.
But I’ve always felt like this is something I’d like to do. I’ve even started countless blogs in the past, but I think the fear of failure and feeling unqualified held me back from ever hitting “publish”. I have to admit, I still don’t feel qualified now, but maybe birthing a baby has made me feel more confident that I can do anything.
In college my dad taught me something profound about creating wealth, businesses, or the life you desire. He would say that the market is like the ocean. It’s a limitless body of water that is constantly recreating itself. The amount of water, or wealth, you can pull from it is directly related to the amount of times you’re willing to get up of your beach blanket and carry your bucket into the waves. The ocean isn’t going to miss the water. It wouldn’t matter if you filled a thimble full of water or a barrel. It is not going to notice – there will always be enough water. Go fill up your bucket as many times as you want.
So here I am, walking through the sand, bucket in hand. My hope is that this is a place of joy and creativity for us to share in together. As a mom I know how important community with like-minded women is, and I hope that we can create a community together that is inspiring and uplifting to each other as we share about our lives. I hope that I will one day be able to support my family financially through my creativity here as well. They are my “why” that is fueling this whole venture. I hope that you will join me! And if there is something that you feel you would like to do, take the leap and go fill up your bucket!
